A pie iron is the simplest cooking gear at the campfire: two cast iron halves, a latch, and whatever you put between two slices of bread. Sandwiches toast, fruit pies caramelize, eggs set, quesadillas crisp — over open flame, coals or a grill grate.
The square head seals at the edges, so fillings caramelize inside instead of dripping into the fire, and it cooks on any heat source, from campfire and grill to gas, electric, ceramic, induction and oven. Both 13.8 inch handles unscrew, which turns an awkward fireplace tool into something that fits in a backpack.
It arrives pre-seasoned. Care is warm water and a towel, and the surface only gets better with use.
A recipe e-book comes with it, from mountain pie classics to campfire breakfasts, so the iron earns its place on every trip.
In the box: 1 single pie iron with two removable handles, care instructions, recipe e-book.
