Features of an Authentic ADC Tuning Fork
Material
Authentic ADC tuning forks are machined from non-magnetic, corrosion-resistant aluminum alloy in 3/8” x 1” solid bar stock. Finished instruments do not bend, break, or deteriorate under normal use. The overall finish is satin aluminum, with subtle grooves on the handle for a more secure grip.
Construction
Authentic ADC tuning forks are medical grade and accurate to .5% or their rated frequency response. Weights, which can be found on 128 Hz and 256 Hz instruments, are equally sized on each fork and are mounted securely about a quarter of an inch below the fork tips. If there are visible gaps between the forks and the weights, it is not a genuine ADC product. In addition, the bottom of the fork handle is slightly beveled, with a small indent at the center.
Branding
Authentic ADC tuning forks are marked on both sides of the instrument. One side is stamped with the instrument frequency (128C, 256C, or 512C). The other side is stamped 'ADC.' If you receive an instrument that’s missing either of these marks, it is not a genuine ADC product.
